In 2006 the City commissioned a review of
the King-Spadina Secondary Plan which included a Public Realm Plan
for the area. The following includes an edited and updated version
of that plan prepared by The Planning Partnership with a particular
focus on Wellington Place and its surroundings.
Since then the Wellington
Place Neighbourhood Association working with the Councilor’s Office
and the City has asked the Planning Partnership to continue its work
to advance the conceptual plans and preliminary estimates for portions
of the Public Realm, including Victoria Memorial Square, and Portland,
King, John, Wellington, and Richmond Streets, anchored by Clarence
Square, to guide work on public spaces as monies become available
through Section 37 and Section 45 Agreements.
